When Christmas 2012 found me without a job, I felt like a failure.  I had two little boys to take care of and I was absolutely confused as to what to do next.  And let’s not even talk about the professional embarrassment of not being employed.  The helpful calls from friends who had heard what happened and were so sorry about it were in fact unhelpful because it just made me feel worse.

Looking back, it was just the thing that propelled me into learning how to manage my money better and becoming someone who could help others as a coach.  And that is what this 21-day challenge to increase your savings and reduce your debt is all about.

In this challenge, we have looked at different ways to shift your thinking of your job as your career to your career as your career.  For me, my life, my job, and my career were the same thing. WRONG.  I learned that I had to create a life plan that looked at me as a holistic person – mind, body, and soul.  Then, I knew I needed to improve my job skills to allow me to be a better financial planner, real estate investor, and communications/marketing, specialist.  THEN…..I could put together my career.  And my career is a portfolio that covers my network, certifications, experience, and more.

As I went on this journey to self-awareness and self-improvement, it was an unraveling of my old way of thinking.

So a simple mind shift helped me succeed – that is – MY JOB WAS NOT MY CAREER.

My career was building an income plan to finance the lifestyle that I wanted.  And creating that type of career meant I needed support and a team to make it happen.  That is the support that Financially Focused offers!  Now, let us build out your career so that you can increase your savings and reduce your debt.

INCREASE YOUR SAVINGS

🎯Tip #1 – Do you have just one resume? Can you create another resume to highlight a different skill set?

For many people who feel stuck in their job and feel like their life is going nowhere, the thinking that you only have one set of skills limits you to one job.

🎯Tip #2 – However, if you were able to see yourself as a multi-faceted professional who could transition to many different types of jobs based on the best opportunity for your career, then the doors would be wide open.

🎯Tip #3 – An individual development plan is an excellent way to pull out your different talents so that you can earn more and increase your savings. You can check out this awesome on at EGScareers.com.

REDUCE YOUR DEBT

Now over on the debt side……

🎯Tip #4 – have you considered doing a BALANCE TRANSFER to give yourself some breathing room.  A balance transfer works best when you have debt at a high-interest rate that you can transfer to a lower interest rate or even no interest rate!  While this works great for credit card offers, this can also be used for other types of debts.  Now, to be clear, a balance transfer is awesome when you have the discipline to change your spending behaviors, so I would totally recommend having a few debt counseling sessions to root out any issues with money!

In this 21 day challenge, the goal is to support you and help you to make the mind shifts and the financial shifts to finance the lifestyle you deserve.  Be sure to follow the link to join us for the entire challenge!
